It’s April 2026 and I’m in Los Angeles working for Warner Bros Pictures Animation. (WB Feature Animation.) The show I’m working on is called Margie Claus and it’s a Christmas Musical led by Melissa McCarthy and her team. The movie is directed by Kirck DeMicco and (recent KPop Oscar winner!) Michelle Wong. I started in June 2025 from Canada and relocated back to LA in very late 2025 after being invited to come in as a full time employee.
Paw Patrol Movie 3 is coming to theatres this summer! It has Dinos! I wish the public could see the work we did on the story team. I don’t *agree* with the beauty standard haha but the whole movie has some of the prettiest boards I’ve ever seen.
I’m kept busy with relocation and cross border stuff, so not much else to report. Comiong to the US can be tricky to navigate, but getting settled this time was MUCH easier than when I came down in 2022 to work for Disney Feature. One obstacle in particular that took 2.5 months to set up last time only took 8 days this time! I did everything the same on my end… this time things just went right lol.
I told people to stay tuned for amyhenkelart.com but it will be a while. Very glad to have lots to work on and to be working with amazing artists at WB. Lately I’m cast on a wide range of sequences: Comedy, drama and musical numbers. I still approach my boarding with a “character first” mandate.
Margie Claus is especially exciting for me because Melissa and 2 other key creatives on the movie came up through The Groundlings. I went through the whole Groundlings program in 2023 up until the end of Writing Lab. So being on Margie is a unique opportunity for me to sharpen all my creative skills in one place with a sensibility that I definitely vibe with.
